“SARIKOPITES”

CRETAN CHEESE PIES

They took their name from their shape and they are easy, quick and delicious! You can try them with honey on top as a dessert or as they are, with the cheesy flavor of the myzithra cheese.

 

Dough:

1/2 kg white flour

1 shot of raki or wine vinegar

100 ml olive oil

Pinch of salt

 

Stuffing:

300 gra

Cooms myzithra cheese

Olive oil to fry them

Toping:

Honey, black and white sesame
– Prepare a medium-hard dough and let it rest for a couple of hours
– Open a thin phyllo with a stick
– Cut phyllo into thick stripes and stuff it with myzithra cheese.
– Secure and roll
– Heat olive oil in a pan and fry them in medium fire until both sides get a golden color
– Serve with sesame and honey on top
